    85 250r - Exhaust Seal?

My last 250r leaked pretty bad where the FMF pipe connected to the FMF silencer. I am building another now and have been looking at the seal/clamps that are available. There is one on eBay that looks like a short piece of heater hose with a clamp.....

Has anyone made there own with heater hose of something similar????? If so do tell your story!

You want to go to an auto store and ask for "Air Pump" tubing hose for any car that is the diameter you need.
Regular rubber hoses will not hold up to the heat, and stink like hell when they get hot.
The Air pump tubing is designed for hi temps. Should't be more than a few bucks.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

Has anyone ever made an exhaust seal with heater hose? Any odor or other issues?

One more thing - is this an optional accesory or a requirment?
