    What trike is this?

Hey guys, I got an offer on this from one of my buddy's friends. He has this Kawasaki Trike and it appears to be a KLT. He said its a KLX 160 which makes no sense. It looks like a KLT250 but I can't be sure. Anyone know? he wants to trade it for my 1982 250r with no plastics/seat, and that needs the shift fork and shifter replaced (I have shift fork, no shifter) but has a refurbished engine on it and new chrome rear wheels with new knobbies (24in). Pics attached Click image for larger version.

I personally wouldn't make the trade if it were me. As far as what it is I cant tell you. All we have around here is Honda.

It is a KLT 160,and pretty rotten by the looks. The tank and pipe are probably not in the best condition... Look it over super good, and see what all scars you need to fix on it,And weigh your options!

It looks nothing like a KLT250, its definitely either a KLT110 or 160 or 185 (hard to pe specific from the picture) and I'm not a Honda fan by any means but I wouldn't trade a 250R for it unless it was close to beyond repair. Not just based upon the R being faster and a bit more valuable or because KLT's aren't fun little trikes, but because parts are nearly non existent for the KLT's.

Keep you r, and fix it. You will be much happier with it. That klt looks rough, and also the parts availablilty is terrible!

I have a particular fondness for the KLT, and I want a KLT160 pretty bad, but what everyone has said is true, you can hardly get any parts for it. Normally the R is worth much more than the Kawi. Having said that, with it needing transmission work (shift forks are not easy) and all the other parts missing, you will be spending quite a bit of time and $$ getting it running. If you've got the funds, keep the R. Otherwise, if the KLT160 runs, I'd be tempted.
