85 ATC 250r Gas tank - Thread boss repair?

Is there a way to repair or replace the thread bosses in the plastic fuel tank of an 85 ATC 250r?

Just pulled a tank out that I have had for about 10 years and it has bolts ceased in the bosses and the bosses just spin. Anybody ever dealt with this?

- I am shopping for decent tank at a decent price to replace it. If you got one PM me. Thanks for any help or offers.

Can't be fixed. Nothing sticks to that type of plastic. Just find a used a tank. You can probably get a nice restored one from Mr. Clean here on the forums. Not sure what he charges or if he has any available right now though.

Edit: I never tried melting the plastic around it before. You can always try that and let us know how it goes. Epoxies and that sort of thing will not work though.
