I have a 185s always started on 1 pull now nothing I'm positive its the stator I know theres two different coils ones wrapped and one isnt which one is the primary one for the spark?

+1 exactly, but since your this far, can you see any OIL around the flywheel? It should be Dry under it... Since your this far with the flywheel off and about to change out the stator( its the small top coil, the larger one on the bottom is for lighting) i would go ahead and pull the crank case cover off and change out the crank shaft seal ( its the big seal that sits in the middle of your case cover) This will save ALOT of head aches in the long run. Im about to change the coil and crank seal on brothers 185 tomorrow morning too. My reason for changing it out is because of a leaky seal that shorted the coil, this has happend to both my 185 and 200s
