Can't get the clutches out of my 200s. Do I need a special tool ?

I'm having a hard time getting the clutches out of my 200s. I'm trying to replace the plates and clutch springs but I cant get the centrifugal clutch off to get at the manual clutch.
Do I need a special honda tool to remove the nut on the manual clutch ?
    Anyone have any pointers.
I was told this was going to be pretty easy.

I don't know those engines, but before you get too agressive wait for someone who does have knowledge to answer, as you may have a left hand thread on there if it is on the right hand side of the engine and spins clockwise.

The nuts on the centrifugal is backwards threads but I cant get it off.
My manual says to stick a penny somewhere to lock the gears but I keep loosing the pennys in the trans.

I'm trying it on a spare engine first just to make sure I know how to finish the job. I dont want to have the bike apart and get stuck with it in peices.

Ok, I'm starting to get a mental picture. I think I'd stick a block of hard wood and old handle might work) between the gears and use relatively light weight impact driver to remove it.

PS. Keep in mind that due to monetary inflation since that manual was written your engine may no longer acsept such small denominations!

I got the centrifugal clutch off but now I'm stuck on removing the locknut for the manual clutch. The book says I need a special honda tool to remive it. Is this so or can I remove it some other way.

You can make your own tool from I believe a 15/16 socket and a dremel with some cutoff wheels. I made this one a few years back and have used it several trikes now. Not pretty but it does the job.

Good idea. I made one and got the nut off. Its no pretty but it beats $37 at the dealer and 5-7 days wait.
I'm not sure if I want to tear into the clutches on my bike now. I did lose a couple pennys working on the spare motor.
The honda part number for the tool is 07716-0020100. Maybe this will save someone else some time.
