Now that the 86 T3 is finished it’s on to the next project. Going to be building a 500R with caverider, he no longer has access to the internet so I will be posting the progress for ya’ll to follow. In the very early stages of the build yet but we are making some head way. This weekend we rebuild the front forks and did an old ice racing trick to lower the stance of the bike with out changing the rake. Here is the standard fork set up.
If you swap the smaller spring for the larger you can make the fork about 2 inches shorter with out sliding the forks up the clamps. You could take this a step further and put both springs on the bottom of the fork lowering it about 5 inches but you will have almost no suspension travel what so ever that way.![]()
Note: This will only work on 85 forks, 86 uses one long spring on the top of the fork tube and one small on the bottom instead of two springs on top and one bottom in 85.
