    help on a 250es please

    I need to know if I can remove the shaft drive from a 250es and turn it into a chain drive.

    1st of all..no!!

    2nd.. Why??

    Buy an 83 BR if you want chain drive..but just the same the 85-87 BR was the best designed ever..who would want to change it??

    Take out the output shaft, and custom build a new one that ends in a sprocket.

    DONT do it! If you want a chain drive buy a 200x or something! The fabrication involved in such a project doesnt bear thinking about. Dont hack up a perfectly good BR just to get chain drive.

    In earnest, what is your reason for wanting to do this?? The shaft drive setup on the BR's is simple, reliable and very low mantainence.

    ...and don't forget the swingarm. could use the swinger and carrier off something else, but then how to mount it?

    don't let these guys get to ya Destry. they can be a bit harsh at times, but they usually mean well.
