Thanks to the advice of a few people on the forum, I am now the owner of this '85 250R. It needs some TLC, new piston/wrist pin/rings, but not a bad deal I feel. Can't wait to get going on this project!!

nice buy dude, be patient and clean it up right. with that top end off nows a good time to just split the case and inspect everything gaskets are cheap building another engine isnt, i skipped that step and found out the hard way. oh and remember the manuals for the 85-86 R are available through the site so use em if you do split your case its much easier

Yeah, I'm going to go through it and take my time. I'm in no real hurry to get it going...yet And yeah, the rack is extra long...I'm thinking of cutting it back and re- TIG welding it; right now it won't even let the trike sit straight up if I needed to put it on end.
