YZ Powervalved motor for my 1986 Tri Z

Hey guys...I've not been on here for about 5 years!! (remember me?)

I had an impulsive moment today and bought a rebuilt (or so they say) 1985 YZ 250 motor on ebay for $350. I've been researching how to put this into my '86 and it looks doable.

I've also got Jason Hall working on my Tri Z cylinder, head and pipe.

So I think once I get the ported Tri Z cylinder and engine back in I'll ride it for a while....then try out the powervalved YZ 250 engine.

Maybe once and for all I can tell if a ported Z runs as strong as a stock YZ 250 powervalved motor.

Then I'll probably send the YZ cylinder off for Jason to make it rock...

Just thought I'd share... (my delusion)

Here are pics of the Z and the 1985 YZ 250 motor I won! Click image for larger version.
