Thanks for the clarificaton on the KT!

Those are some good looking trucks, Dcreel... 379 extended hood Pete is IMO the most beautiful truck on the road.
Ours aren't very pretty, a couple of them have over 2 million miles (we buy used...), but they get the job done. We like the 3406's because they're easy to work on and get parts for, and they're all we really need.

I agree, they aren't the most aerodynamic for sure. But I love the look of a big hood. I liked my Cummins mostly for the rattle the jake would make with 6" straight pipes. Other drivers would have me hit the jake next to them so they could hear it again. The Cat was relatively quiet with 6" straights and no muffler. I was an owner operator for 5 years, it was great. But too many tickets and being home 10 times in a year takes a toll on you after a while. I may be getting back in a big truck soon. Looking forward to it, pulling a rock bucket around again.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

Ya know Kasey, I had heard recently that Cat was possibly going to buy out International and keep it as their on-highway division. Cat did get out of on-highway 2 or 3 years ago. My brother works at an International dealership, he is the one who told me that. The Cat proto you posted looks alot like a International Pro-star. Looks like there is some truth to that rumor.

very cool pics of those old school large cars. Agreed that the KT is heavy but they can handle much more power than the new E motors. I have some buddies that are laying down big numbers with K,s that cat guys can get close to but dont stay together. Were talking around 3000hp, Sigma pumps and 4 snails the size of five gallon buckets. There were some dudes from Aussie that built a truck with An E Model cat and converted it to Mechanical. The end result was nasty but they had over 150K in the build.

I've been a truck driver for over 10 years now. The only one I ever owned was my Deuce-

It had a multi-fuel so it ran on anything. I ran it on straight waste oil. A regular Deuce mill is 130 HP. This truck had a bigger motor swapped in from a 5-ton and was 190 HP. They're supposed to run at 8-10 PSI boost. This truck ran at close to 20. I absolutely loved it. I wish I still had it.

I've been hearing about this truck for over a year now and this is the first picture I have seen of it. I must say that is a huge disappointment in the styling department. Caterpillar is so big now in every aspect, not even just equipment. Every day you see people wearing CAT shirts, Cat stickers on people's cars, CAT everything. That truck is not going to stand out from the crowd one bit. If they had done it right it could have been a truck that you saw coming and watched it go by. That thing just looks like a base line KW ant-eater or a Sterling or something. Gay.

Like I said earlier. Rumors going round about Cat buying out International and keeping them going as Cat's on-highway division. Cat quit making on-highway engines about 3 years ago. That yellow truck Kasey posted is an International Pro-Star with Cat emblems on it.

Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is how the world is SUPPOSED to work. :P
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

I knew that looked familiar. That makes sense. Still gay though.
