    Honda shaft drive questions

Does anyone know if the honda 200es , s models and the 250es or (big red ) Rear differentials are interchangable ?
I have a mint 86 trx250 fourtrax that was parked 9 years ago and covered because the rear differential bearings were going out. This unit pretty much has the big red 250 motor in it. I drained the tank , clean the carb , fresh oil filter , oil , and spark plug and she fired up and idle smooth first kick.
Anyways any input would be great.
    Thanks

The differentials on the 200ES and 250ES are very different..not interchangeable.

Pull the differential and rebuilt it..not that bad to do. Provided the crown and pinion aren't damaged it's totally salvageable.

You'll find this job a learning experience..I sure did!!

Also an expensive special tool is needed to remove the pinion shaft..

    Good luck..don't break anything.

I believe you can bolt on a 250es or 250sx differential to that TRX 250. I am using the swigarm and driveshaft from that quad on my 300sx build.
