    XR600 Motor Into A 200X

I was surfing to net and came across a Yahoo Group that was about Honda ATC's anyway there was a guy on there that was said for a performance mod to a 200x you could use an XR600 motor. Has anyone else ever heard of this or have any info on it...? I emailed the guy asking for some more info...

I think it would take a LOT of frame modifications. You would be better off starting with a 350x frame.

    Lots O Trikes!!!!!

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well. I know a guy who has an XR400 and I was going to look at how it mounted and everything to see if it were possible. I was just looking to see if someone had done it...

    200x frame

No a xr600 motor won't fit into a 200x frame it does fit in a 350x frame but the frame need's alot of work expecally in the front bottom and dual carb's are a huge problem they hit the frame and no airbox. Also gas tank need's major mod's underside.Unless you are a good welder or are willing to spend alot to a proffesional and do it right, don't do it.It can de very dangerous with bad weld's.Expecally since the frame would also have to be reinforsed for the heavier motor and you shouldn't attempt to jump the atc.It probly would brake the steering neck off.How do I know this I'm building one right now!Mine is going to be a 650x though.

Back in the early to mid 1980's there was a guy who had a custom ATC with an XR 500 motor in a 3 wheeler. He raced it in the Southern Calif. desert. He had to take the rear fenders off to kick start it because it kicked rearward.
