polaris 0w40 synthetic oil in an 81 200?

I searched this and everything similar because of knowing how many oil question/threads there is but never found a solid answer on the 0w. Have some polaris 0w40 synthetic oil on my garage shelf not sure where I got it but.... would this be ok to use in my 81 honda 200?

Probably ok in low winter temps, but I wouldnt use it in temps above 30 deg or so.....

Is that Polaris chaincase oil or Polaris 4-stroke oil or something? I know Poo has at least one 4-stroke sled in production.....

Ya its 4 stroke synthetic engine oil. Its been in the 60's to 70's lately and getting colder. Should I try it or would you use 10w40 motorcycle oil?

Use 10w-40. 60's and 70's is way too warm for that 0w stuff. When I mean use it in cold temps, I'm talking below 30deg. And I might be highballing that. That oil is designed for use in a liquid cooled 4-stroke sled that is primarily used in temps below 30deg.

Pretty much any wheeler service/owners manual I have ever laid eyes on listed 10w-40 as the best oil to use. Good to below 20deg Fahrenheit, and up to 100deg Fahrenheit. I would stick to what the designers/builders of the engine recommend....

I wouldn't use fancy synthetic oil in an old 4 stroke trike but that is just me Even if I did already have the oil.

Ok thanks guys ya I had read that before in the manual I have.. states 10w40. I ended up just running to town and picked up some lucas semi-synthetic 10w40. How hard is it to clean out that filter screen I saw in the manual? Doesnt look too bad.....everything is pretty basic and simple on these Ive noticed.
