1985 200x kick start shaft dilemma

Im trying to replace my kick start shaft and it seems as if i need to remove the transmission in order to do so. i have the case split but cant seem to figure out how the shaft comes out because the gear is overlapped by another from the tranny. so i guess what i really need to know is how to remove the tranny, forks etc. any info would be great.

    Thanks,
    Jared

Pull it all out LOL . I pull the pin that holds the shift forks first and get the forks out of the way and then grab both tranny shaftes together .

I can't tell you enough of how much it helps to have a shop manual in times like this. You can download them off the internet if you have to.

I think you can leave the entire tranny and crankshaft in, LH case on the bottom, leave the chain sproket on too if you want, pull off the RH case, tranny stays in the LH case with the crank. watch your thrust washers, there is one on the kicker shaft against the LH case, and another on the main shaft ... I think. print out the parts page, it helps, I just put mine together 3 days ago (AGAIN!)
