    86 "X" muffler

    This is what I bought it with. I have no idea if it is stockor aftermarket. I do know it is stinkin LOUD! I live and ride in a fairly populous area and try to stay quiet in an attempt to nor piss of the neighborhood and or the Police. I have tried to find a stock exhaust to see what they look like to no avail..... Anyone have a pic or at least a description of what a stock one or a quiet one looks like? Thanks for your help.... in advance!!!!!

    That looks a lot like a Cobra muffler.

    I have one on my '83 200X...and yes, they are very loud.

    A quick search and I came up with these examples of a stock '86 X exhaust:

    OEM will be MUCH quieter.

    I bet a member here can hook you up with a nice used stock unit pretty cheap. You'll probably have to go down 1 or 2 sizes on your main jet if you go back to the stock exhaust.

    Never thought of looking on the brochure to see what the exhaust looked like (DUH)! Thanks Motorious! I'm quite familiar with the rejetting thing... seems like that's all I've been doing lately!
    Soooo anyone have a stock they want to trade for this thing before I get the police over here. LOL

    Have looed on a Honda site and the numbers are close but wondering if anyone will know if the 83-85 exhaust will fit on the 86? I don't own a welder or I'd just pick up anything and make it fit but that's not an option.
