Just pulled the chain off my r and cleaned it. What are you guys using for oil or lube. I have some Amsoil Heavy duty metal protector its says safe for all chains. Can I dunk in 10-30 motor oil.

I use PJ1 chain lube, it works well and is nice and tacky so it stays on the chain. 10w 30 will work but its gonna be messy as hell and wont stay on there as well as nice and tacky chain lube. I've also used napa chain lube in a pinch and never had any problems with that either..

I use chain wax when I lube them on the bike. In the off season I soak all my chains in kerosene and then used motor oil. Just make sure you dry off really good before you install and ride otherwise its and oily mess.
