    wanted: spotlight 250es pics

well, my buddy found a spotlight (non-Hondaline) for his Big Red and has asked me to find a good pic or two of how these were mounted exactly. i know there's a worklight, but i thought there was a spotlight also. can't seem to find any pics of a spotlight, just the worklight. the worklight mounts off the top of the right fork tube, but he's wanting to know how the spotlight is mounted.

    Bigred light

Attachment 135043Mine is not Honda line, well it is Honda line something but I do not think for the Bigred but here is where I mounted it (on rear rack).
I believe another member is currently mounting a (Hondaline?) spot light on the front of his Bigred. He pm'd me to hold off making him a bracket because he had found some thing already made up he thinks he can use.
But here is my Bigred with a light (not so much a spot light, but a light none the less).

thanks for the pic jes, not exactly what i was looking for though. the one he's wanting to know about is the handheld spotlight that connects to the factory Aux plug. my buddy is wanting to know if the factory bracket is for the leftside or rightside and how it mounts up to the machine. he's wanting to mount his light on the leftside so his righthand is free to steer and throttle if needed.

Are you able to access the original sales brochures on the main page?

The Hondaline worklight is supposed to mount on the right side of the bike/same place as the speedo would be if you use it vs the speedo. Honda made a bracket for it to mount there. I am in the process of making my own bracket to mount it on the left side of the bike and will post pics soon of it.

ok, so that's one down. i was thinking the honda mounts were rightside only, but didn't really know. yes post a pic when your done please.

i swear i've seen a pic somewhere of a handheld spotlight and was thinking it should have some sort of clamp or quick release. the worklight actually bolts on to the mount correct?

either way, i've got more knowledge about stuff and a few more ideas he could use to fab one up. anyone have anything to add please do so, he's always open to a better idea when it comes along.

    thanks fellas for helping out

I think the only light of this type that Honda made as an accessory was the Hondaline "worklight" that is in their brochures. It is easily removed from the mount and has a coiled cord just like the 250ES headlight. It also plugs directly into the accessory outlet as well. I will be posting pics of the left-side bracket I made very soon...it came out pretty well and is pretty sturdy.
