    Project 1979 mirage special

Well, with the snow coming thought it was time to dig this little gem out and get it running. Picked this up this summer for a whoping 80$, not running and the hood off. At first glance it looked good, no spark on one hole, so after checking a few things found it to be 1 set of points not working. So out with the motor to set and inspect the points....fast forward to 2 weeks later after finding leaky crank seals (and just about every other gasket/seal) I found that someone had put new pistons and rings in it as one side had a piston come apart, and made a mess out of one cylinder head wich was reused after some one took a die grinder to it (big no no) lucky for me the sled came with a spare 377 motor with good heads and a bit tighter std size cylinders, so after a hone and clean up shes all back togeather and running for a total of about 300 bucks..including the polycarb hood being fixed, not bad for a budget build, heck the heated grips work !!!

Just a thought....do you have the air box for it...there jetted to run with the restriction of the air box being in place, without it they will run lean unless the main jet is fattened up a bit. Nice little sled.....vintage is great.
    Don't worry...just run watcha brung...
