This tooth is KILLing me! Literally.

so yeah, got a tooth ache on the 3 day weekend.
abSURD amount of pain.

Fingertips on left hand had turned some shade of blue to black.
Local dentist asked my if I wanted pain pills and when I said NO I WANT ANTIBIOTICS
he said antibiotics won't kill the pain.
So I asked him where he got his freakin' license as I walked out the door.

Since then, I've heard that dental infections usually kill the heart valves or cause
abcess in the brain and can kill.
Certainly NOthing to fool with.

Newest research indicates that staying on top of dental problems could save millions
in seemingly unrelated health care issues.

go to a doctor, they will give you antibiotics, which will kill the infection and then most of the pain. i feel for you, been there myself. makes you wish people were like sharks, teeth just fall out and new ones grow in.

Heres my .02.. As someone who LIVES at hospitals,,but is NOT a DR. at all. { Farmer/ATV dealer} . Doctors,,are not God,,nor do they "know it all", some WANT them too. But they can't. That's why,,we have "specialists". I am shaken,,on a monthly basis,,at SOME of their ignorances. But,,,we have to step back and look at the BIG picture. DrJoe def HAS Medical training,and I Believe is a Dr? And worked in the medical field all his life. To admit he wasn't aware of ALL the problems our filthy mouths cause us,,is simply human,And AWESOME ,he would call himself out on it!! Dr. OZ,,has REALLY pushed,,by FLOSSING,and mouthwashing Before BED,,,,,NOT,,just brushing our teeth.. FLOSSING AND MOUTHWASHING. We ALL,,every one of us,,will live 3-5 years longer. Medical fact. Our gums are a FILTHY breeding ground for germs. And it mainly likes to attach to the walls of our blood vessels,,hence,heart disease,and or stroke. I feel for ya Doc!! I think the only thing worse is crabs,,JUST KIDDING! I meant, ear ache, when it's that close to the brain,,it is the real deal! Find a different Dentist,they'll put you on your antibiotic for at least 10,get her quieted down ,and then fix her up. I'm a big one for keeping our teeth,some just yank em! But ,with that infection,,not gonna happen either way till that's cleared out. But,,you already know that! Hope you're feeling MUCH better today! Personally,,,I GO,,EVERY 6 months,,cleanings,X rays,,the whole nine. Yep,,it costs me $200 a year.. But,,I DIDN"T go from 19-27? I think. And I got one of them there fancy infected toothaches. My future Mother in law worked in a dentist office her entire life. She just laughed at me!! You know Bill,,,,,this can ALL be avoided!!. Well,, 2 infections,a failed filling and a root canal,and cap later. Guess what? It wouldn't have COST me a cent to have went and got proper cleanings all along! It cost more for all the "procedures",, not to MENTION,pain and suffering!! Than just the maintenance over the years would have!. Just like our engines,,pay me now,,or break the bank later.. I remember vividly,,the 8* day ,,changing 4 Kodiak 400 tires ,right. ,fr shock,full service,,and ALL of the usual chores and crap that comes with a dairy farm on a frozen winter day. Frozen,broken pipes,broken water bowls,broken manure spreader,broken silo unloader,jelled up diesel fuel IN the tractors... ALL,,with double pnemonia,and a oozing ,infected tooth. For some reason that day stands out in my memory! There's NO calling in sick around here!. .The Kodiak was my older cousins,,he visited with my folks while I did his quad. He lives over an hour each way,and I didn't want him to have to leave it. To this day,he tels me how stupid I am Good luck!

GO BACK NOW, This is not a laughing matter, I almost lost one of my best friends last month from a stupid tooth ache, he didnt want to go to the dentist till his insurance kicked in at the first of the year. He wakes up october 10th with a softball in his mouth, he cant shut his mouth, the pain is insane and he cant talk... they rush him to Portland general or whatever, (50K heli flight btw), he had an abscessed tooth, infection spread to his lungs, heart, spinal cord, they had to remove ALL of his gums in his lower mouth, 1/3 of his jaw, half his tongue. 1/3 of his left lung. He spent 3 weeks in ICU and is now just getting out, He is 25 years old... is missing half his face, and will never talk the same again, he was married 8 months ago and had just moved to oregon to start a life up there with his wife...
