    Tri-Zinger 60 EBAY Carb Ques.

Working on an '85 tri-zinger, which some of you may have seen in my "Ridin' Pics" thread. Long story short fuel isn't filling the bowl. I did notice 2 things before putting the bowl back on the carb. 1: the pin on the spring loaded needle has alot of travel...more than I've ever seen on any spring loaded type needle. 2: where the needle sits on the float seems to be worn, possibly adding to the problem. Both of these issues are leading to the float not dropping far enough, when the bowl is empty, to allow fuel to enter. So I priced out a new float ($22) and needle ($12).

So my overall question is this...for the price of the 2 parts needed I found carbs on ebay( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-Y...sories&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-Y...sories&vxp=mtr ) for a couple of bucks more. Are these junk? I'm looking for some first hand experience. Thanks.

P.S. I just replaced the petcock and gas cap...both were needed for other reasons than fuel delivery problem, just incase that was in your thoughts of replacing.

    UPDATE:

Bought & installed carb and so far i'm happy with the way the zinger runs. It wasn't a 100% straight bolt in though...well kind of. I had to re-use the old cover plate that houses the cable adjusters...new one's cable adjusters were longer (about 3/16") and that made me loose travel on the slide. And the choke slide was a little different with not having the pin at the bottom so i changed that too, although i'm second guessing that decision b/c now i'm this carb might have a design change that eliminated pin??

All in all that was the problem, and I'm hopefully taking the newphew out over the weekend to put some well deserved time on the zinger.

    Thanks for everyone's input.
