I joined this site back in 2008 when I got an 85 Honda 250sx free from a buddy. I put some time and $$ into it and got it going until I made the mistake of parking it for a while with ethenol gas still in the tank and carb. You can all imagine what happened so it sat in my shop for over two years accumulating dust and looking sad. I finally pulled it out of the shop last week and began to work on it again. I purchased a new throttle cable and fuel petcock valve and spent a good bit of time installing the new parts, cleaning out the gas tank, and rebuilding the carb. I still couldn't get it to run without pouring a little gas in the carb so I disassembled it again and consulted the service manual someone had scanned and posted online. I realized the pilot screw had broken off and what was left had permanently fused itself to the body of the carb. I just PM'd a member of this site about a replacement carb so I'm hoping I'll hear back from him soon with good news that he still has it available.
In the meantime, hello again to everyone on this site! Thanks for the great resources that are available here. Hopefully, I'll be riding my 250sx again soon!
