Honda 83-84 250r tachometer

Has anyone ever tried to get a tachometer from oddy/pilot to work on there 83-84 250r. I stumbled across a old thread about a guy called petesatc that had one on his 250r but I couldn't find anything else about it or pictures.

Yes the pilot tacho works on any of the 250R's the only problem pilot tachs are as rare as the ATC tach......i do have new ones but not cheap....if you want a old school type tach on a 2 stroke contact John Swinehart on this forum i helped him make some out of a honda road bike tach from the UK.....they look as good as OEM and i have used one on one of my pilots.....they work great.....

Thanks Pete, but I only have 4 of the original 7 (or 8 ? ) I built left and they are not for sale at this point in time.

the first pic is the OEM pilot tachs the second pic is Johns tach.....i likes John's better as it has no holes in the back so dust can get in and even if it does John's can be stripped cleaned and put back together the OEM's you have to prise the glass off and is pain to get back on.....

I don't think I have ever seen the pilot tachs before. Heard about then of course but don't recall ever seeing one. NICE collection Pete !
Perhaps in the future on making some more, but not any time soon. I have several other projects to conquer and I seem to dream up more and more.
I still have the jigs, many components and my notes so it is not out of the realm of possibilities, in the future.
