Bought it a few weeks ago and haven't ridden it yet because I have learned over the years that most people are lazy,so I started tearing into it to get it ride ready:
cleaned re-lubed adjusted the headset bearings.
adjusted the valves.
stuck my XR650L baffle in it until I can replace it with something else.
made a case saver for it.
made a wheelie bar (mainly just for safety as of now-will replace.
adjusted the decompression release (It was so far out of adjustment it was basically non-functioning).
bled the brakes, (looks like it hadn't been done since the bike was new).
re-greased the swing arm,
re-greased the rear shock pivots.
fabricated a rear chain guild.
adjusted the chain.
lubed the switches on the handlebars.
cleaned out the tank.
replaced the fuel line.
lubed the throttle cable/clutch cable.
lubed rear brake pivots/linkage.
lubed clutch lever/front brake lever.
lubed kick start pivot.
other misc stuff...

still needs some stuff replaced but I want to go ride it and see how it goes...

I only got to borrow my friends welder for a couple days so I had to work fast and with what was currently available to me.
once again the wheelie bar was mainly for safety and will be upgraded down the road,I still need to paint it but this is how it looks mounted:


the chain guide plastic part came off of a swing arm I had laying in the garage supposedly off of a blaster? along with the axle,front spindles,control arms that I was going to use on a homemade go-cart that I may not ever build. I fabricated the bracket to mount it.
for some reason there was a cutout in the rear skid plate already and it worked out that my homemade chain guide fit right in there, the skid plate is made out some sort of thick plastic, anyone recognize where this may have come from? anyway,I still need to do a little clean up grinding on the guide mount and paint it still also:


unintentionally spun the rear wheels in the garage...I have never owned a 3-wheeler that did that until now.

Im a big fan of the 350x. Never really made it to the racing scene but they were a lot of fun in the woods!

the grab bar looks pretty good for homemade, i have never seen a plastic skidplate, the chainguide is a interesting idea but have never run one on any of my trikes or the need , you gotta get that 350x out on the trails ,you will love it !!!!

well,in this case the chain guide IS a need, from what I understand the stock rear skid plate has a kinda built in chain guide and this plastic one does nothing to keep the chain on the sprocket, I could see that the chain had been flung off more then once before I got it.

Thanks to the PO who had the stock caliper with the parking brake on it in his hands, decided that he would throw it away after replacing the caliper with a Epay caliper with a block off plate, I now had to come up with a parking brake assembly, the rest of the parking brake stuff was still on the bike so I just needed the part of the parking brake that bolts onto the caliper.
I noticed that the parking brake off of a blaster or banshee rear end that was sitting in my garage taking up room would bolt up to the caliper but wouldn't clear the axle housing the direction it needed to be and the only way it would fit had the cable hanger pointing the wrong way,so I decided to get creative and just make a bracket.
pardon the ugly welds..all I had to work with was a Chicago welder with the crap wire that came with it and I'm still learning the tricks of trying to get a decent weld with it.
the most time consuming part of the fabrication was making sure everything cleared the air box on full compression of the suspension, there really isn't a whole lot of room.
