    Quad Question re: CanAm Renegade 1000 X XC 4 X 4

Ok so I have been out of the country and the loop for a while...can someone explain to me what the intended purpose is for the CanAm Renegade either 800 or 1000XC 4x4 ATV's. I have never seen one other than in DirtWheels or the internet. Is it for hard and fast trail riding? Mud? It's intriguing to me. Why 4x4? Looks to big for all out sport and not really dressed for hard core mud.....is it just a best of both worlds sorta deal?

If you find this post stupid as hell feel free to flame away....

    http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...etting-so-BIG-!

they make them because rich people see them as being "the best" and buy them for 13k
happens at my dads work all the time. that and the big UTVs that are all fully loaded sell pretty well.

its not uncommen for a guy to role in a buy 15,000 dollars worth of UTV

Understood - Lotsa people pay tons of money on ATV's in general. But back to the main point of my post - what is the intended use? I admit - I am intrigued.

Go on YouTube and check them out in the mud, or drag racing any other stock quad. A few years back if you wanted to win in mud racing, you got a can am. Now you look at atv mud racing and there are only can am's. There lots of Renegades out in the mud and just trail riding. I bet a Renegade would be awesome in the sand drags with paddles on all four corners.

The Renegade is my next quad no doubt about it. I have a Grizzly 660 now and am not happy with it for numerous reasons, but never another Yamaha quad for me.

Horrible analogy but I think I get what you are saying. Those vehicles are pretty much single purpose.

This is looking like the best answer - I love the fact that an ATV company has the balls to build and all out do anything play toy.

They are quick... Really quick. You'd never guess their weight riding one.

Having said that, weak frame and are NOT a utility bike. Canams are flimsy. If you aren't working it, sure. If you plan on carrying a saw, some chains, some gas, tools and what not, and then plan to tow a trailer full of trees, I assure you a canam isn't the choice.

Overpriced bike with a crap frame and a genius motor. If they would just beef up their frame, racks, and give it a better ride, I might be interested. I don't know of any early 800s without problems though.

I'm wondering if they addressed that frame issue Goat. I just watched this video, it's not even a minute long, but the guy spends a lot of his short time speaking emphasizing it's got a completely new frame for 2012.

    Maybe, I haven't sold parts/bikes in almost a year.

All most people did was slide tubing in the frame... Or beat tubing into the frame with a huge I should say.

Just put fender protector on my bike. Reinforces the floorboards and runs along the edge of the fenders. Hardly the quality of the bumpers, but, they were free seeing as superatv forgot to bill me, and still didn't when I told them they needed to. I've unfortunately added 100lbs to the bike's weight... But it's for work more than anything. Just more traction lol

I have had many Gades. I won't cross the road for one. Now,,,an Outty,,,that's a whole diffrent story! I Love em ! To answer your question.. Anyone who says they are buying for a status symbol,,,MAY be true.. BUT,,In Doing that. They will get THE ,fastest, baddest ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE that money can buy. You can blast thru the woods at breakneck speeds,,logs, ruts, ditches,G outs, that would Stop a Great quad in it's tracks,,,you just literally,,ride away laughing out loud under your helmet! Being a dealer,,I rode the,,Noone needs anything bigger than a 400 for YEARS.. Being I'm a 3 wheeler guy and TRULY felt that! Then I rode one of these animals in 06. That was the end of that advice! True ,the frames are very weak,,they have supposedly taken care of that now.. They are very fun,,in responsible hands,,and will work like a plow in idiots hands. Great machines overall.06 and 7 are the ones you want if you like insane Torque. They killed them in 07,,putting the HP up high. I hate them. My.02
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

I am turning my PM's Off,my Email is billsracing@hotmail.com,put 3WW in the subject. Thanx!

The renegades are hella fast in the GNCC series and in Baja. They built the 1000 because Arctic cat has a 1000 and they already had the 1000 in the outlander.
