    Save the KT577A Tire??? UPDATE!

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we might be able to get Dunlop to make more of the KT577a rear tires? I was thinking contact them with a petition or something but i've never done anything like that before? Any ideas or is this another ATC tire listed in the obituaries for good?

UPDATE!!! just found out that you can in fact get the OEM ohtsu tire in 20x10x9 still from honda dealers. Part # 42710-HB9-003. This is the same tread pattern as the kt577a and was used on the atc 250r and trx250r.

From past research just on the replica dunlop front tires for the R I would say its a dead end process. They tried the same thing to try an get the front made again and by the time it made any difference to the manufacturer they said the mold for the tire was already gone. Go figure right? I'm not opposed to trying but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Theres a better chance in somebody just molding there own original tire and trying to figure out a way to make some them selves I've got some nearly new full tread ohstu tires to try it on if there ever became a need.

IMO, DUNLOP wouldn't blink an eye at $50K let alone a 100 tire order. You should have seen how hard it was to get the CST 23" front tire for the Z. They had it at a dealer show and never offered it in their catalog. They found their error and it still took 6mths to ship them from China..Goodluck but I wouldn't waste your time. I still find K tires but when searching remember less is more...meaning use terms like Dunlop, ATV tire, 23", or the K# your looking for. Most sales I've found the seller has NO idea what it's for and have no idea 18x11x8 is the size. Most are luckey to to list the 18" part of the size.

Thats the problem with some of these big american companies....I hate to utter these words but you would have better luck sending a sample to china.....can you say chunlop!!!
Wikipedia "All Terrain Vehicle" Definition excerpt
Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

The OHTSU 20X10x9 for the 85-86 ATC250R, also the 22x10x9 for the 85-86 350X, 86-87 ATC200X are still available from honda. You can still find the Dunlop KY577A on ebay etc but the OHTSU is available. Only the 1986 ATC250R came with stock Dunlops, the 85 model was the OHTSU ,correct me if I'm wronge. I would love to see someone produce a exact replica of the 23.5X8X11 P/V 101 or the KT576, I know that someone contacted DUNLOP about the KT576 MOLD and it has been lost,, wonder if anyone has searched into the 23" OHTSU MOLD????? There were actually 2 molds, one 23.5X8X11 and the other 24X8X11 .. wonder if they still have the molds for these tires..

I'm correcting you because you're wrong. The '85 ATC250R came with Dunlops & the '86 ATC250R came equipped with Ohtsus.

For some reason the pricing on FeeBay for the 22x11x9 is relative to your local dealer; People are still asking 200$ plus for the 20x11x9.
