ESR 350 Build Complete!!!! (Pics on pge 3) UPDATE: vid on pge 6!

I just about have enough saved to place my order with ESR for a 350 cyl kit, reedblock and full exhaust for my R.

One quick question: Would there be any performance or hook-up issues with running my FMF Powercore silencer with the ESR ATC5 pipe? Or should I just go with the ESR silencer? If I can save that few dollars I could be placing my order tomorrow! I know it's only $140 but I have been waiting quite a while and I'm getting really antsie! Push come to shove I'm sure I can get the silencer before next riding season though. I'm just REALLY pumped to do this build! This will be my first big-bore and I'm stoked to go out and spank some 450's next summer!

I would ask esr when you place your order and see if you need a big bore silencer. I doubt that you will see a noticeable difference between the two small bore silences, the esr will be a little louder, but IMHO looks better.

Lol....Have fun with it. Small bore should be fine for that cylinder. Stock stroke or ?

As far as i know i thought esr changed all there atc5's to centermounts, not completely sure about that just know you would have to do some cutting on your silencer to make it fit. I would suggest getting the full exhaust ive got the curved atc5 pipe on my R with an esr silencer and it performs pretty well plus i took the extra time to polish the silencer to a mirror shine. I also would go full o-ring on both the exhaust flange and silencer.

Thanks for the replies fellas! Just got off the phone with Tom at ESR. He put together a helluva deal for me! Getting the 350 cyl kit, reedblock, ATC5 pipe, and silencer for $1192 plus shipping. They are doing my case boring for free! I have to say, so far ESR is top notch. Still suprised at the deal Tom put together for me. If I were just to order everything straight up online it would be $1436 PLUS shipping and PLUS case boring. Really happy so far.

Yes, the ATC5 pipes are still available. He kind of wanted to sell me on the centermount setup, but I told him living and riding in northern NYS does sometimes get a little muddy. So I opted to keep my airbox and go with the standard exhaust. He agreed.

And I am already running the ESR billet exhaust flange and o-ringed silencer coupler. But I'm guessing the ESR exhaust system will come with the coupler?? I think the coupler I have is for the full FMF setup I am currently running.

It will be stock stroke. 350 is the biggest you can get without getting a stroker crank.

Now it's time to go pull the engine out of "Precious"...yeah, that's her name.... Depending on my work schedule, I should be shipping my case halves out in a week or two. Once they get my cases and get the machining done they will send it back along with all the goodies!

I'm so excited about this! This is uncharted territory for me. I have never done a big bore mod setup before. Gonna be torture waiting till winter is over to ride it!

I'm gonna have to see if the Billy will change my username to RIDE-RED 350r! LOL!

I'll update this thread with pics here and there if anybody is interested.

Awsome bud, are you just leaving their cast porting, or having them do some kind of port work? I highly recommend doing something like a 7 or 9 port work it will make a world of difference over their casting.

Oh yes! I'm getting the TRX9 port job done.....

When I ride my R, I'm mainly bombing seasonal roads. It's alot of fun ing down the straights and getting sideways on the turns. Nice, wide gravel roads. I also do some informal, recreational drag racing. I plan to add a +4 swingarm to finish this build. But the swinger will have to wait just a little while....

    So it starts....

So long stock topend! It's been fun...You will come in handy for my near stock pump gas burner that's next in line to be built...

    What have I done??!!

Now off to my brother's house to tear down the engine. He built/restored this trike as it is now and did a darn good job at it. We are going to have a good time in his garage enjoying coffee, cigars and maybe even a couple of brews while we tackle this little project of mine...

Depending on my work schedule I should have my case halves boxed up and on their merry way to California for some quality time with Eddie Sanders!

More pics to follow. If this is a bore to anybody, please let me know and I won't waste bandwidth. Maybe it's just me, but I'm excited to share this with my triker buds!

Did they give you a ruff idea how long it would take to bore and ship your items out? ? ? Let us know when things start to go wrong with ESR, I hope they don't but if they do keep us informed.

Well, my brother and I got the engine disassembled today. Just need to clean up the case halves and ship em.

I'm considering getting my crank rebuilt while I'm at it. Lower rod bearing feels and looks good but I'm thinking about getting it done just because....

Anyone have any feelings for or against getting the crank rebuilt? It'll be another $165...... Worthwhile or am I going overboard?
