sweet!! i love how a nice motor can look as sexy as an entire machine!! i have brush painted a 200e frame once with a tractor and implement enamel from tractor supply, it turned out great. the key is a nice fine brush. you would never know it was brushed, very smooth and glossy!! takes a ton of time, and forever to dry though!been perfect the last few days for runnin it. ground is rock solid here, and the grass is still green. not sure on the cold temps, and jetting and brake in though!!

I agree... The fine bristle modeling brush, patience and good dry time were key in getting the paint to come out good. I actually set the parts near my woodstove to aid in a good cure..

And yeah, going to wait till spring to get it out and really ride it... Not saying I won't put a heat cycle or 2 on it in the garage though!

60 Hp those are big numbers,I would highly recommend you get in a dyno session. You have to be careful with those High
Compression motors. So Once you do few heat cycles do a compression check. Should be over 200 psi.

As I recall, Tom's exact words were "just about 60hp". So, I would say realistically if I can get 55hp I'm doing OK. I joined trx250r.net recently at another 3WW member's recommendation. It's all 250r on that forum and let me tell you, there are some highly experienced, highly knowledgeable members there that have been there and done that to the ump-teenth degree. In lurking around there, I have learned that it takes a VERY well built 330 or 350 on the stock crank to get over 60hp on the dyno. I'm not real obsessed with hp, but it would be cool to know. One thing is for sure, this thing had better feel head and shoulders more powerful than my mildly modded stock cylinder! LOL!

Nope....had to hit the road in the big-rig at 4 this morning and didn't feel like doing much of anything when I got home except plop down in my recliner...

It's likely I won't do much other than a few heat cycles in the garage till spring..... It's pathetic I know, but I kinda hate to get it dirty already! My yard is quite wet and nasty right now...

Well, I got a little more tinkering done on the R and got a few more pics of it as it sits now.. FINISHED! Took it for a quick rip up and down my backyard and all I can say is WOW! It's running a little rich right now which is OK seeing as it's not broken in yet. But even running on the rich side it's waaay nastier than my old setup, (which was no slouch). If I get a chance to ride it a little bit again, I'll see if I can get my wife to take a vid and I'll post it up. My backyard isn't real big so I run out of real estate quick.... But anyway, here's a couple more pics.

Well, tonight I finally got around to taking the 350r up to my brother's house (where the yard is considerably bigger) and put a few break-in laps in. HOLY SMOKES that thing flat rips!

I was going to have my wife take some vid and post it up but she forgot. I'm sure I'll get another chance though.

Everything went very well, might be just a teeny bit lean on my pilot jet. Baseline recommended by Tom at ESR was #195 main, #52 pilot and needle clip on the middle groove (38mm Airstryker carb). But I forgot to mention to him that I am running with the airbox snorkel removed. Or whatever it's called, it connects the airbox to the main frame backbone. Anyway, I have to order a couple steps richer pilot jet just to make sure it's safe.

I was planning on looking up Mr' Golighlty for a +4 swinger here when I get another kitchen pass to spend more dinero on the trike. But after getting the chance to stretch the legs on this thing a little bit I'm thinking a +6 would be a better bet...

Overall, very happy and pumped to light this thing up on Tug Hill this summer where I can really let 'er run!

Oh yes, Tug is an absolute BLAST! To ride seasonal roads open to ATV's in Lewis County registration, insurance and helemt required. Now, Lewis County has some county trails that run on privately owned and county forest lands. To ride those trails, you must get a Lewis County Trail permit. Those trails are more like trails, narrow, windy, muholes.... goat trails. The seasonal roads are gravel and buckets of fun to ram around on. Careful of the 55mph speed limit though. DEC and Sherriffs have been known to check speed in some locations on busy poker run and SNIRT run type weekends. I just do my best to guess, but sometimes I can't help myself from slapping the happy lever, and HARD! LOL!

Oh, and the seasonal roads are open 365 days a year unless snow is on them as they are part of the sled trail system. The Lewis County trails are open May 1st (I think) till deer season opens..

I just watched the video. Very nice trike, but I can't belive how little smoke there was. What oil did you have in it and at what ratio?

At that time I was running Amsoil Dominator at 40:1. But I now have it mixed 32:1 and will be switching to Maxima 927 oil. When I disassembled my old setup I saw evidence of corrosion on the cylinder wall where the piston was parked and a little bit in the bottom end. No more full synthetic oil for my baby. Switching to the maxima on the recommendation of some very reputable R builders including ESR...

I jetted it to baseline recommended by ESR and I think right now I'm just a tad lean on the pilot. I'm going to richen the main 2 sizes as well before I ride it again. I want to be sure it is safely rich for breakin.
