What's the best place to find info on the Suzuki LT250r Quadracers?

Is there any forums out there for the lt 250? I have been seeing these quads pop up for sale pretty cheap lately and have thought about getting one. I dont know too much about them other then the basics 86 and older wasn't a powervalve engine, stay away from the 87 cause its a one year machine and parts dont interchange. Where can I learn more about these bikes? I used to see a guy race mx localy on a lt250 before the 450's came out and he destroyed everyone! I'm sure his bike was built to the max though.

85 and 6 are 5 speed, non pv ,as you said. Fr and rr shocks are shorter. I love these motors,,alot of us did.. 87 brought 6 spd,pv,longer suspension.88-90 very little changes, 91 and 2 ,dropped the Full floater and went with a no link rear suspension. They're one of the best things Suzuki made short of their Gixxers. Watch for all the usual,,bad bearings, chain derailments causing case damage. Poor compression, loose rods. Swingarms break around the carrier ears on 85-6,,,on the arm itself on the Full Floaters..Plastics are still available from Maier. 87-92 are 5 bolt rears,,maybe hard to find?? I have them : ) I would hold out for a 500 myself,,but they're a another story,,and the one you want to stay away from the 87..
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

I am turning my PM's Off,my Email is billsracing@hotmail.com,put 3WW in the subject. Thanx!

I too have seen some very nice original LTs for very little cash recently. A couple 92s I found still had the OEM tires on them.

This is one of the best places to learn about the Suzukis 2 strokes. Great place and alot of information there. I had a ton of questions about my zilla and found everything that I needed. Not much out there can compare to the power of a zilla. Still the fastest stock quad ever produced. Hold off for one and look for an 87. They have the big reed motors.

I'll have to check that site out for sure. I would love to have a zilla I was very close to trading my old 400ex for a pretty nice 500 but I didnt go threw with the deal because the owner said he had problems with the head studs pulling out and he had them drilled out and tapped for a bigger sized stud. Seemed like it could have been a PITA so I just stayed away from the deal. I deffinantly would love another 2 stroke quad I had a Tecate for awhile and it hauled ! I'm not to big on Banshees they seem like another PITA because theres 2 of everything on the engine to replace/matinance. I will just have to do some research on the LT250 and Zilla . Zilla's are kind of hard to find around here there usually selling around $2500-$3000 so there still holding a pretty good price.
