Rad valve ? carbon fiber reeds possible problem

I have a 86r with idle issues and power issues. It has a rad valve reed cage with carbon fiber reeds. They are not cracked. When I hold them up to light I see little light holes. What should I see when looking for a bad reed valves. Are you suppose to see little holes when you hold it up to light.

    Thanks guys

chips, cracks and nics are the normal problems. There should be no holes anywhere and they should sit tight to the reed cage.

Try cleaning your carb, and adjust the idle knob or screw.

Call Boyesen ask them, They will let you know.
