    Help Carb issue 85 200x

    I can not get this carb figured out took it off cleaned it put it back together i idled way high wouldnt rev up didnt matter what i did with the idle screw so i took off the throttle needle on top of the carb messed with it until it fell back down in there started it up now idles right but only revs up about a quarter of the way when i hold it wide open what could be wrong with this thing

    anybody have any ideas is there more than one way that the throttle needle can go down inside the carb could it be the gaskets i noticed when i pulled it apart that there was some kind of adhesive on it could that be the problem or did i putthe needle back in wrong anything might help me

    what did you clean it with? maybe its still gummy. i'd take it apart again, clean everything with gumout carb cleaner. make sure the float moves freely. also maybe also the cable is a little jankie. just a thought. sorry your so far away, i'd give ya a hand.

    i cleaned it with gunk carb cleaner everything looks good inside it the float moves freely i have noticed that the throttle is sticky the actual thumb throttle on the bars sticks it ran fine before i took it apart it just started hard

    Others poo-poo them, but I love the cheapo eBay replacement carbs. I have been using one since April 2010 with no issues. I don't bother rebuilding old carbs anymore unless I absolutely have to

    I've had the 'w' clip that holds the main needle down inside the slide flip over so the
    main needle settles wherever it wants to. and also missed it a few times. Very common.

    It's held down by the return spring inside the carb/cable IF it's set in there correctly.

    Many people also have your 2nd problem of not getting the main piston down all the way into the carb.
    so it revs really high.

    I wonder if the cable jumped out of it's hook inside the handlebar assembly when it was too loose.

    Nothing real complicated, just frustrating
