    TECATE with bad first gear

Im looking at possibly getting a tecate with a bad first gear. What would cause this and what would it take to fix it?

Would first gear need to be replaced and forks or?

Describe what a 'bad first gear' is, Making noise, Jumping, Doesnt engage properly, Rough, whines/grinds? And is it just first gear?
    Tools of the trade:
ATC250sx - Runs, Does wicked donuts.
KX250 - Sitting around. Needs new chain, Rear w/bearings, Clutch release arm seal to replace.

    Oh yea sorry about that.

It wont engage into first gear. I dont have the trike yet so I cant explain the problem to thoroughly.

Wont go into first but will go into all the other gears and is driveable with no issues after first.

Who knows maybe it's just a stripped shift lever.

very true. I bought an 84 that needed "tranny work" and it was just a stripped shifter
