and i thought i was the only one
i dont understand how you guys wheelie through all of the gears, or wheelie on 3rd or higher... i can get my wheel up nice in 2nd, but mabe im too scared to lean back and balance. i fliped my 250r over in 1st doing wheelies, and i was on the tank!

what kind of advice should i follow to be able to pull off some small 30-40ft wheelies in 1st?

Both my trikes will absolutely dominate the wheelie scene. And I agree with the previous posts- The yammie 200 and 225 are the best for riding a long wheelie. For wheelie, I prefer a hard tail trike, like the YTM 200E.

My honda 110 will wheelie with out trying. Short wheel base I guess. Sit as far back as you can and you dont even need the front tire. Slight amount of throttle without yanking on the bars and it comes up. Fun but sucks when something is on the rear rack and need to steer.
For the beginner, If the terrian is flat the rear grab bar will keep it from coming over almost all the time. The only time it will go completly over is uphill. So just dont go at higher then you can run speed and if it goes over, dont panic and hang on.

I like wheeling the 350x. Just stand up in 5th or 6th gear and let her have it... you can go for just as long as the path will allow you. I've wheelied all up and down the 3000 foot air strip here in 6th gear, just pin the throttle and give her a nice pull. It's pretty easy just get the hang of it. I have a 12 tooth front sprocket though so i dunno. My buddy has a 13 tooth on his 350 and its not too much different. Give it throttle and put the back of your knees against the fenders so that your legs are locked. Then put the front end down at desired location.
    The below sentence is TRUE.

I've rode about 2 mile long wheelies in 5th gear on my 450R. My buddy rode one in 5th for 5.3 miles in 5th gear on a stock motor 400EX and had to drop it because he ran out of road. We got that one on video and showed the truck speedo at 75 mph.

People say that, but I have never seen any evidence - ever. If that statement was true, than if you parked your big red on a steep hill and left it idle, it would do engine damage. I think not!!!! I've done wheelies for well over 1/4 mile on my Big Red and my 350X. MyCousin can ride wheelies on his 400EX for miles at a time. No damage to his engine.

I'm running an 85 250 Big Red and can wheelie it in all gears, if i start the wheelie in 1-3 gear. Nothing quite like blowing past a couple of sport quads stuck in the mud on 2 wheels.

"So, uhhh, whats that fourth wheel for anyway?"

People who hate trikes seem to love stats. Statisticly speaking more people get hurt per year on 4 wheelers than they do on 3 wheelers, so why don't they just leave us alone?

Anyway The only one I have tried wheelies on is the SX and I love them for wheelies

    LOL ya right.
Right now, there really is no domestic/American vehicle I would want rihgt now, becasue they are butchering them left & right. But If I had to choose, it would be Dodge.
SRT4 faster and handles better than focus's and cobalts.
Their diesels are, imo, the best domestic pickup right now, as for hauling & such.
    Fastest pickup.

I defend my beloved Dodge to death....I HATE fords wiht a passion. We get more fords in our shop than any other vehicle.

To stay on top, 225s imo are the best wheelie.
