    another 70 thread

So I picked a couple 70's up from freaks a few years ago and never really did anything with them but tuck them away in the basement ... ended up putting a 110 motor in the one and painting everything up nice and on the stand it sits (got to get freaks over here to see if we can get some spark before I go any further) So that brings us to the other one ... I ordered one of those 125 lifan motors and got the "kit" one so shouldn't be a problem getting this one running, just pulled it all apart and getting ready to order parts!!! haven't posted on here in a while will have to figure the pics out

cool! do you have a build thread going for the one with the 110? Be cool to see what you did to drop the motor into your 70!

No I didn't do one for the 110 but all you really need to do is drill a hole for one of the mounts on the frame and massage it a little to get it in there

got quite a bit done today , got everything cleaned up and painted except the forks i stripped the paint off them and i'm thinking about a disc brake still .... then again this is getting expensive as it is with the new motor ,rear brakes, bearings ,probably exhaust, bars and all those other misc bits.

Yep, they can be costly. Sounds like some good progress. Where are the pics?

Looks like a fun project. The 110 is a really good all around platform for the 70's. Not to wild or mild.

IMHO if you can swing the coin, do the disc brake set-up on the 125 conversion out front. They really need help with the brakes with the bigger engines, especially if you are gonna do any trail riding with hills. You will thank yourself for it in the end. I want a front disc kit on my Pirhana 125.

I would like to know more about this air cooled hub mod interested for sure.
Mine is "finished" for now. I never did update pics once I got the CRF 50 shrouds on there. It is holding up well. However, that Piranha 125 motor is making a funky squawk sound in the clutch when it just starts to grab. I was gonna take it apart and look for the problem, but my luck and past noise hunting experiences, tells me to just wait for it to break, and then the problem is easier to find..hehe.

ID:	139442 got some progress and the tank that is on there is for mock-up I guess I got real lucky because the carb is huge and clears the tank. I ordered the pipe last night and I should get the bars and throttle today. The tires are glued on and dry rotted I was hoping to use them for now as new ones aren't really in the budget right now and new plastic is also out. Thinking about the pull start conversion still who knows I might just push it . I still need a few pieces for the headlight also.
