haha this gives me some motivation to get onto mine xD I spend more time staring at my Tecates wondering what I want to do than I do with anything else xD
    My toys:
    '84 T3 red Parts bike
    '84 T3 green (runner)
'85 Tecate with an LT250r in it
    '04 Kawasaki KX250F

Don't blame the ride, blame the skill.

And they say Christmas only comes once a year!

I got my flywheel back from Jeswinehart today. It looks great!

Also I got my lower fork tubes polished tonight. I'm just waiting on the upper portion of the fork seals and then forks can go back together.

Forks finished up today, installed, along with front hub and wheel. Rear axle is in position but I still need to chase the p/c out of the threads. I think things will move pretty quickly from here. Oh, Can anybody tell me if this is correct- on the front axle, the manual says 94 ft lbs. That seems like an awful lot of torque on the aluminum threads in the fork leg.

Also, I noticed this Kodak moment while working on the 2nd fork. It's the Tecate, my brothers 350x and my 250R is in the truck because space is too tight in the garage right now. The 350x is in the final stage of getting a 400ex header pipe.

Well she got her first glimpse of sunshine today. I got the p/c cleaned put of the threads on the rear axle carrier and bolted the rear axle into place. I took it off the stand and started mocking up the mojave pegs I will use. They bolt right on but might sit slightly higher than the stockers. At that point, I couldn't help myself so I got the tank, rear fenders and seat down from the over head storage. I set it all into place and took to the saddle for the first time. After a moment of bliss she was begging me to take her out in to the evening sun. After the pictures I got the radiators put on but still need to find a few pieces of hardware.

Over the past few weeks, I got everything I needed to rebuild the brakes all the way around. On the front I used a front master cylinder from a 660 Raptor, so at some point I may add a brake light. My front brake hose was in good shape, just ugly, so I recovered it. Rebuilt both calipers completely. They are they same p/c green as the frame. New rear brake hose and got the rear master rebuilt with a rebuild kit for an LT250r, thanks to some advice from other users here. Today I got fluid in and front and rears bled out. Everything works great! Also got new chain rollers installed and my 18" knobbies put on (basically just shop rollers, getting paddles ASAP). I also picked up a new headlight bulb the other day so I put my headlight assembly on. Its looking like something again!

All I really have left is the engine. I Need to get a Stator, clutch kit, throttle cable, reeds, rebuild carb and top end work done.

I will try to get some new pics up soon.

What did you recover the brake hose with? How did you secure the ends of the covering?

Mate great job with this build, not trying to be negative but please check those main bearings you bought are really c3 high speed bearings and arent just standard ones. Were they bought from ebay?To many ppl are sellin these bearings as crank bearings when they are actually not high speed clearenced bearings, good way of telling is did the flywheel seal have a viton lip on the sealing lip? Just something to look into i dont want you to put this engine togehter and a bearing let go trust me i learnt the hard way. No crank bearing should come loaded with grease.Deffinately best to go genuine here bit more costly but well worth it.
Other than that what a nice build great to see another great 3 wheeler comin back to life great job mate!!

flyingW, After I got the old casing off the front brake hose, I used that chrome XC braided sleeving. It was a PITA to get on but looks pretty good, then I used clear heat shrink tubing and went just a little past the sleeving to hold it in place. It sort of resembles a SS braided line.

Mart, Yes I got the crank bearings off ebay, I can't remember the seller but they are boss bearings. what do you mean by a "viton lip on the sealing lip" Thanks for the heads up.

your crank beaings should have no seal on the actual bearing, the sealing is done by the crank seals. he's right make sure they have c3 stamped on the bearing. a c3 has looser tolerances and will hold up to the rpm's of the crankshaft. great build so far! loving the green frame!

By saying a sealing lip i dont mean on the bearing i mean the crankshaft seal itself should have a viton lip on the inside (sealing lip of the seal)ive seen heaps of times standard bearings come with the exact same seals just the lip isnt viton.A standard seal will work just wont hold up for as long. This only is for the stator side im talking about.Getting back to the bearings i would deffinately be checking them out.just my 2 cents i really like the work your doing id love to get my hands on a tecate but they are few and far between over here in australia.
