Well, IMHO I don't see a $700 BR sitting there in that condition. The plastic is wrecked and he didn't even take the time to wash it before posting pics for Craigslist. So that kind of makes me wonder how he has cared for it in general. It looks a bit neglected....

And as far as $300 worth in new tires, everybody knows you will NEVER EVER get every dime back out of a trike what you put into it fixing up or modding...

I'm open to correction here, but I just don't see the chain driven BR worth 1300 restored. 1000 maybe, not 1300... Can one even get replacement plastics for the old BR's?? I have yet to look.

Around my area, I wouldn't pay any more than about $400 for that trike in that condition, maayyybe $500 if it's mechanically perfect and ONLY needs plastic. I mean everything mechanical, brakes, bearings, engine, transmission.. EVERYTHING......

Seller obviously knows there is a following for the old trikes and is trying to capitalize on that.

    Just my $0.02

If it was a 250 big red and only needed plastics it would be worth close to that. I have the the big red 250's in good condition go for over $1500.

But that one looks quite rough. I would wait a bit, once he realizes hes not going to get 700 you will be able to talk him down a bit. Sucks for him though because tires arent cheap.

Well, if you only paid a hundred for your QS, then it wouldn't be a bad trade. How bad of a POS is your QS anyway???

I bought a 83BR last year for 500$. It was in really good shape but needed back brake fixed . I live in Canada and I have seen them for 1300$ in mint shape and for around 3- 400 in rough shape. I was looking for a 200x and accidently found this Big Red, and between the condition of the machine and the fact it had a working speedo ,I bought it. So dont rush it. The guy will drop the price or something else will show up.

Well, my advice is don't trade him a $700 quad for a $400 Big Red.... A good running, good condition Quadsport will bring 6-800 in my area...

Bottom line is he is asking too much $$$ or trade value for what he has, and the condition that it's in.

$700- he must still be hungover from New Years. Pass on it!!! If you are looking for a nice work unit the Br is a great machine and IMO the Tri-Motos are awesome too. My wife has a YTM 200 and it will pull about anything. They are hard tails but look for a DX for full suspension, just will cost a little more but deals are out there every day. Dont rush it because you will get something you probably will regret. Patience is a virtue Daniel son!!!!!

I think it would be worth it for $500. I got my 83 185s for $150 and all it needed was a stator coil so there out there.

I just bought a 1983 200E Big Red with only 400Km on it for $400.00. It runs mint but needs break cables and probably brakes.
