Apparently, you don't have a clue as to the differences between 2-stroke and 4-stroke exhaust systems and how they work...

BUT, we were/are talking about your 2-stroke 250r here aren't we??

I have been wrenching on and riding these things since before you were born. I'm not wrong on the original point being discussed...

    Done here.....
alright well good for u but this is a 2 stroke silencer... http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...horty-Silencer dude... honestly only 2 strokes ive messed with is a 04 kx125 and 2 yamaha blasters ( one with a 240 vitos bb and a fmf fatty with a power core silencer)

Don't see any hp or percentage promises on that silencer.... There's a reason for that. Louder doesn't necessarily mean more HP.

    Here ya go.. http://www.motorcycle.com/how-to/how...care-3423.html

As i said, expansion chamber and stinger. As long as you aren't welding a washer in your silencer outlet making the outlet more restrictive, the silencer just isn't a significant player in the game. In other words, so long as the silencer is no more restrictive than the stinger portion of the pipe....

Have fun putting your new parts on..

If you end up riding in any wet or muddy conditions, I would run the airbox. If you need to, you can cut a couple of holes in the airbox lid, or remove the lid. It will be more water protected, but not as waterproof as running an intact airbox. Running no airbox is mainly for duners, hill shooters, and asphalt racers.

In the mid 70s dg had a circular silencer just like yours heres a pic of a vintage dg race bike http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Honda-C...item27c2200613

Then in the mid 80s they switched to the oval silencer. And to back up ride-red the silencer doesnt do anything for a power adder all it does is make it sound different. I youst to run a dg head pipe with the stock silencer and then when i put the dg silencer on i felt no difference in power but a big difference in noise. Also for an airbox depending on where you ride you should run one but i have a k&n with an outerwears protectar and it does just fine.

Can't say I've ever seen a pipe with a VIN on it!

It's not a Kerker. Here's mine- (Sorry the bike's so dirty!)

I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you threewheelin, that you should take a few steps back and look at who you are. All this bogus posting, baiting, smack talking, crying about mommy and having to find a job, etc, etc, etc.... We've all been there kid. You're not some sort of special case like you seem to think. That's what being a teenager is about. Go listen to some whiny teen-angst band or something.

P.S. I'm not gonna give you the rant about helmets and brakes like everybody else. I personally don't give a sh!t if you wipe out. It might teach you something. God knows you're not going to listen to those who have been there.

I would like to add that both brakes work flawlessly, front and rear.

Also, you'll never get help from me with anything again.

I am saying this in earnest....
Look, almost every time you are "just saying" you come across in a know-it-all, smart-a** way that ticks off alot of people who are trying to help you.

There is a huge wealth of knowledge here that I have learned alot from in the time I have been a member here.. I have been involved in the sport at a recreational level for nearly 25 years, riding and wrenching on bikes, trikes, quads and sleds. I have been around the block with this stuff a time or 2, but I don't claim to know everything, never will. There is ALWAYS room to learn, no matter how long a person has been at it. All I'm saying is maybe if you work on your manners a little bit, you will probably have alot better experiences here..
