depend on what year of 250r you are talking about, 85-86 (6 speed)...the rest are 5 speeds....but for yours since mine is an 84 mine is as follows :bottom to top it goes 1-N-2-3-4-5... N can be hard to find sometimes since it is in between 1st and 2nd...can anyone chime in to make sure im right lol

    Correct...

About the only advice I can offer is about the VIN and your powder coating... I would just make sure the shop that does the powdercoating is aware you do NOT want the VIN coated and non-readable. The frame on my R is powder coated and my VIN is still legible...

As to the other questions you have, I'm sorry but I just don't have those answers as I have no experience with the Air-Hammers and sourcing of parts for them....

as for the dg pipe...go to dgperf.com...click the picture...click on online store...atv...and scroll till you see the 250r... the different years are on the right hand side... they say sold out but they will be able to put you inline with one of their dealers if you call them...pipe is around $225 bucks before shipping it looks like... the wiring harness you will be able to pick one up much cheaper used, i havent seen a new one lately for the 83-84...(85-86 are much more in demand)
