New to me 250R questions

Hey all,
I just came across what I think was a good deal. I bought a complete (meaning not in pieces) 85 250r for a whooping $100. It has been sitting for about 15 years and believe it or not its not siezed up. When it was parked it had just a polished head installed. I guess my question would be is it a good deal and second what should I be looking at first? I own 6 well 7 atc's now and this is the first 2 stroke in my collection. I don't know anything about them so any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 125 sitting up in my back yard, the head is tore off but the bottom end is together, what you mean the hi low box ?

and i am new to the 250 r 2-strokes too.... i just found out that my head and piston was peppered which means has alot of nicks and dents in it and the guys on here told me the lower rod bearings are out so when i check thats exactly what it was so please be careful..... man 100 bucks was a steal congrats . probably worth 5 or more even if the engine was locked up so is it firing?

Is that the bike that was SF Craigslist if it was you defiantly got a good deal. I was gonna buy it but the guy never got back to me I guess this explains why. Great bikes tons of power and easy to work as well. If you want to sell it let me know I have cash in hand.

get some pics up of the R! Thats a steal.

One thing I would do in the process of making it ridable is check all your bearings, make sure the chain and sprockets are in good shape and be sure to use a case saver.

I love my R, it's a blast but it's also easy to find parts for!

I'll get some pics out this week. I got spark, got fuel, just need to do some air box cleaning and I may have fire!!!!! Going to be looking for info on the shocks, seem to have lost some holding power
