Gonna give the Bear Claws their first real test tomorrow. Not just putting around my street for a few minutes here and there . Taking the 125m to the Lake Hallie ice fishing contest. Don't expect to catch anything, but it should be blast as usual.

I think the Douglas rims and Bear Claws look pretty badass myself. I have to unbolt a hub and rotate it a spline or two and see if I can line the treads up better. I think it will give it a smoother ride. Not that it's rough or anything, but you can tell they are off just a bit. Need to find out if the Douglas or ITP Steelies can be used on the front. I've decided to get rid of all two piece rims.

Rocky Mtn ATV's item description for the rims stated flange nuts should be used when mounting the rims. No local hardware store had 8mm Coarse Thread Flange Nuts in stock. I settled on new Stainless nuts and flat washers. I was going to use Nylocks but they were short on them. Only had 3 in the bin. Is there a nationwide hardware shortage or something? Or are my local stores just lazy?

Jason - Each tire and rim combo only weighs 26.5 lbs. I gotta think the s on the wife's Trike weigh more than that with steel two piece rims. She may be getting some Douglas rims as well or maybe the ITP Steelies.

Anyways. Here are of my "Work In Progress"

head straight into deep mud and let us know how it goes.
humongous treads... they look similar to the ITP Mud Lites
Have fun in the mud !!

Sweetip...I wish we had mud!!! Although this winter is very mild...I think we will have mud sooner than normal if it stays these temps. Suppose to hit 45 degrees tomorrow. I don't think anyone will be driving anything bigger than an ATV or UTV onto the ice. LOL.

I was too lazy to read back through to see if I commented on this Jason...but the tire & rim only weight 28 lbs a piece. I don't think that's extremely heavy. Especially when you consider a steel rim with a on it. You migh as well break out the chainsaw and cut some wheels from a log and bolt em on. Hell if you choose a good oak you'll probally get better traction from the log's bark. A can't compete with that.

I know it's a little late. But the Bear Claws were beast on the ice. The 125m ran better than it ever has. I went anywhere I wanted and it wasn't an issue. Even made a few bucks pulling sleds and shacks for people.

My phone kept locking up on me trying to take pics but I got one...isn't the best.

It's the unreasonable weather man. Fish are confused. I'm predicting a very early spawn this year.
