1985 200x valve leaks

i just rebuilt my 85' 200x and it has a new piston i sent it out to get bored and honed and i just put it all close to back together last night then when i kicked it over slowly i heard air coming out of my exhaust valve it was slow but enough to be bad what should i do, i think i need to take my motor out again pull my head off and send it to be machined and have new valves put in right?

Do a compression test first . The air sound is kinda normal when you kick a motor over without the exhaust attached . Might be nothing to worry about but you prob should have done a valve job when it was apart though .
