    200s shocks on 200m

I have a 200m thats been sitting due to a bent front fork, I finally got around to piecing it back to together and it seems ive lost the right front shock (if your sitting on the bike). (the shock the axle and brake hub goes on) I notice the 200s front shocks are very smilar i do know the 200s fork is wider but are the shocks the same?

The 200s forks arnt as wide as 200m, but the shocks are the same and would bolt onto the 200m triple. I have a similar problem, i have an 83 big red, and i have an unknown front end on it (thinking 185? its got no suspension, solid style). I got 200s forks, but it doesnt fit the axle right. But, take the shocks and put them on the 200m triple, same thing.

i believe one has a leading, and one has a trailing front axle. not sure which is which though. the M will have a longer axle as it is wider. the m ran a 25x12x9, the s runs a 22x11x8

The 200M and 1983 ATC200 have a wider front end and a leading axle. The 1983 185S and 1984-1986 200S have a narrower front end and a trailing axle. The axles will be different lengths but the lower legs may be interchangeable. the problem may be in the brake stay. Also the 200S front end is pretty narrow to attempt fitting a 25x12 tire. I had the same issue with a bad 200E front end and attempting to fix it cheaply. An ATC200/200M front end is the cheapest fix. I ended up buying a non running big red and swapping front ends. Before starting the project, figure out what the ATC you have is worth to ya. You cant let the old big red front ends go without good fork boots and they are almost $80. For a 200M, I would stick with what you have. For a 200E or ES, The M front end works great but you loose the Big Red look with a cool rack and the headlight mount up high etc.

I wish people would give consistent information! LOL.

I'm in the middle of gathering parts for my 86 200s fork conversion on my 84 125m. I just got my complete forks and triples in the mail today.
I was told any 185s hub, axle and brake assembly would work. It doesn't look that way to me. Unless I'm missing something? I have a complete 82 185s assembly already from a part out I did. The 200s forks look like they take a non threaded axle. Correct? I'm going to guess and say I need a 85 - 86 185s 200s assembly right? Also I read the steering stop need to be modified? Thanks guys. My apologies to the OP for hijacking. I don't like starting new threads when there is already a similar subject being talked about.

    200s front end on a 110 or 125m

I had a ATC 110 with a 200s front end. The stops did not work or had been removed so the tank was dented. The axle will have to match the front end. The hub will have to match the axle and the front end. Honda made many different types of axles for the solid front ends. Working with a 200S front end should be about as easy as it gets for compatibility. You'll need 200S parts. Very possible the 1983 185S parts are the same also.
