I hate when they do that. I've got a set of Dirt Dogs that I bought back in the late 80's that were permanently misshapened by being smashed flat. Still bulged out and out of round.

Just had a pair of turf tamers mounted on a wide set of rims, I took it to a tire shop that had a Cheetah tank. They pull out the valve core and give it a quick blast with the tank, pops them right on.

I have a new Cheng Shin setting in the house right now warming up and "reshaping itself". Bring the tire in to warm up and set the rim outside to chill. Seems to make the tire slide onto the rim easier I think. My local tire shops want $10+ to mount one atv tire. I'm a cheap scape and enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of mounting my own tires. The rachet strap method helps and also using dishwashing liquid help get them to pop on the bead. Just make sure to have some safety shades on because dishwashing liquid burns like a beotch in your eyes!

At the tire shop I work at we usually just mount them then cheetah the beads to get them to go. But we have also used the ether trick and we have heated them up
