I just hit mine with some sandpaper and then blasted them with some flat spraypaint. If it doesnt hold up to wear and tear, it only takes 30 seconds to add another coat to make them look fresh. If the tires werent so good at holding air, I would seperate and do it the right way by sandblasting and powdercoating. Maybe one day...
