I dont have any experience with Tri-Z's, but have built up many 2-stroke engines. Raising the exhaust port is what kills low end power. If you raise it 1-2mm that will give more top end, with a minimal torque loss. If you raise the exhaust 3-4mm it will usually kill low end, but the top end will be awesome. Cutting the cyl. head will increase torque and mid range power. A larger carb and or better filter will also give all around power gains. So basically,stay conservative on the ex. port timing (raise 1mm) to keep good low end, but perform the other mods for overall power. Just my experience.
