    French IceFest videos

We also have our "IceFest" here. It was on January 28th, 2012.

It was a 4:00 endurance on 4 rounds of 1:00, with approximatively 15-20 minutes break between each round.
We were 12 teams of riders (single man or team of 2-3).

You will certainly think that we ride slowly, but the race rule was very strict: 40 studs/wheel maximum!
Under these conditions, the grip is quite a bit limited...

Outside of engines with holes that stink, there is no salvation...

Very nice trikes!40 studs just isn't fair.Guess they want to keep speeds down. That must be a long race to run.

Thanx Ray,I wait for this every year! I posted that before I watched it. Isn't this the same as last year? At any rate,,I am SOOOOOOOOO Envious of ALL that snow. Some timid riders there! But they were all having a blast!

I wish we had something like that around my area instead we have to wait for the lake to freeze over and then we go play on it for a few weeks. But that right there looks like it would just be a ball!

Last week-end, Saturday January 19th, 2013, it was our annual Ice-Fest.

This year it was an endurance on 3 rounds (2 x 1 hour + 1 x 30 min) + a test round of 15 min, with approximatively 20 minutes of break between each round.
We were 14 teams of riders: 7 teams of 1, 6 teams of 2 and 1 team of 3.

As each year the race rule was very strict: 40 studs/wheel maximum!

Here a pic of my race wheels:

Under these conditions, the grip is still quite a bit limited...

These are some of the videos I made:

Last week-end, Saturday January 18th, 2014, it was our annual Ice-Fest.

This year it was a small endurance on 2 rounds (2 x 30 min) + a test round of 30 min, with approximately 50 minutes of break between each round.
We were 14 teams of riders: 12 teams of 1 and 2 teams of 2.

But this year, the weather has been too warm and the ice thickness was supposedly small. So the track owner decided we had to have only 30 studs/wheel maximum!

My rear ice wheels have 40 1’ studs, so I had to remove 10. Unfortunately the slime didn’t work well on the left wheel and it didn't hold air at all.
So a buddy lent me a wheel but I had to put only 3/8” studs… at the end of each round, only 5 studs were remaining…

Under these conditions, the grip was really close to the nothingness...

But before this, we had a round of 15 min with minis (ATC70, Zinger) and without any stud!

These are the videos I made;#14 on the 250SX is my buddy Pote, aka "pote swiss" on the board.
