    Piston hitting head 200X

I rebuilt my 84 200X last year, and we were riding it around the ice, after about 1-2 hours the head gasket blew, I think it was because I did not re-install the copper crush washers. So I just pulled it all apart finally and I see that the piston is hitting the head, what gives? I replaced all the bearings, main bearings, connecting rod bearing (sent that one out) new piston, we just honed the cylinder to accept a .020 bigger piston. There does not seem to be any slop in the connecting rod bearings. I have no idea what is causing this. I am going to try a few things but would love to hear from some of you. For one, I am going to read the manual, and check the piston height with a dial indicator. Maybe the gasket blowing caused is to hit? I think I tried to retighten it once.

Yes check your deck measurement . You might have gotten a 86/87 200x piston which has a different deck height .
Still have your old piston ? compare it to that .
