Does anyone know if the head from a 250es or sx will fit the 300 fourtrax engine, I was working on getting it put on last night and i took the valve cover off to make it easier and i look at the cam and the cam was eaten all to hell, i know if i start it the bikes gonna make noise like crazy and not work right which is what i dont want, If you happen to know if it will work right please let me know asap, i got 4 extra 250 engines and i wanna get this 300 project going already.
Ill post some pics of the cam and valve cover so you guys can see how badly the cam is eaten

i dont know much about big red but my buddy does and i think he said you just have to change the out put shaft of the motor for the 300 to the one from the 250 and the motor and tranny drops right in. im not 100% sure tho

I put a 250sx head on my bro's 90 300 fourtrax. Worked fine.

You will lose the decompression lever which some had and some did not.

im not worried about the decomp level, im more worried about having tpo spend 300 bucks AGAIN on just the head cam and valve cover. But thanks for the info im gonna go start working on swapping the heads now
