    86 honda 200x new chain too short

    hey so i ordered a new chain off ebay for my bike, went to put it on and its just barely like one link too short! is there a way to adjust the tension so its looser, or do i have to add a link?

    Loosen the carrier clamping bolts on the swingarm. Then rotate the carrier forward of backward to slightly shorten the distance between the axle and the swingarm pivot thereby loosening the chain. This is how to adjust chain tension...

    im geussing thats the bolt holding the swing arm to the frame... which is missing the nut on the other side lol

    no he meant on the end of the swinger are pinch bolts that you will loosen and then rotate the carrier up and/or towards the front of the machine. and you should definetly get a nut for the swingarm pivot bolt!

    ok thanks and yes next week im taking it in my truck to a fastener place and getting every missing or rusted out bolt/screw/nut replaced,before i had it,the poor 200x spent most of its life on the side of a house uncoverd and rotting away

    is it just the two bolts on each side of the carrier? how do i rotate it? i loosend the two and i see two lines on the back that move when i loosin or tighten each
    side but it didnt seem to help to much the link is like the width of a pencil to short
