    Honda 250r prices in different states of the U.S.

    Ive been doing alot of reserach on craigslist for honda 250r atcs...and their prices really seem to vary by which location they are for sale in.

    Seems like California has some of the lowest prices on craigslist for nice 250r "s .

    I just picked 1 up in arkansas....its a 1986 ..that had been sitting for a few years. The owner told me he had rebuilt it with a 40 over piston , and it had a KN air filter and aftermarket racing pipe on it.

    Cosmetically it was a mess...all 3 tires need to be replaced...rear fenders were trashed , seat was ripped badly { but I recovered it for no cost} , needed back brake pads , new front sprocket , carb cleaned , air filter cleaned, wiring redone { he had hot wired it so the lights didnt work and the start/stop button wouldnt turn the bike off...

    BUT, the good news...he said he rebuilt it and it only had about 20 hours on new top end , and the engine sounds great, and tranny/clutch works good..

    so cosmetically it is ugly, but mechanically it is sound..

    I gave him $600 cash and a Ruger MK2 22 pistol...

    I have just put $195 in it for 3 tires, back brakes, front sprocket , shock boots ,

    so i currently have $800 cash in it, and the pistol I gave him...

    this will get it in decent shape cosmetically , and excellent shape mechaincally { all brakes working properly , headlight/ start switch working , engine compnents working great }

    the only thing I will still need is a rear fender set { front fender and headlight is in perfect condition.}

    Does this seem like I got a good deal ?

    the damn thing is fast as hell...the powerband is incredible on all 6 gears...

    in fact, it had a 14 tooth front sprocket..and I purchased a 11 tooth sprocket to try and tame it a bit.

    I've been a 3 wheeler enthusiast for years and started researching and following the 2-Stroke three-wheelers much more over the past couple of months. I've noticed the vast majority of them, including the nice ones out west, which I'm sure is because of the sand dunes and more consistent, nice weather. I think it's all supply andemand.....since there seems to be more out that way, they don't bring as much as else where.

    I live in Wisconsin and just don't see 3rd Gen 250R's for sale period. (nor Tecate's and Tri Z's) When one does pop up for sale, they tend to have a hefty price tag on them as well. Nice originals seem non-existant, locally anyway.

    I feel really lucky to have found this mostly original 1985 250R for sale locally about a month ago that I was able to trade a couple of my guns of mine for it. I have about $1,100 dollars invested in it and feel lucky to have it.

    Thanks!! The only thing so far that I've done, is added the headlight assembly which it was missing. I found a 200X machine for parts a while back that I bought for the tires, that just happened to have an '85 250R headlight on it.

    The seller wanted $1,600 for the 250R, but happened to really want a couple of handguns that I had, which I had a total of $1,100 into and I love to "horse trade"!

    $1,500 -$2500 here for a nice 85'-86' 250r...Heck I traded a Xbox 360 and 32 inch tv for my running Tri-Z 250 haha I was lucky enough to find and even luckier he wanted what I had.
