1985 Honda 350X Decompression cable problem??

im in need of some help. my 350x recently took a dump haha!! the kick start just started feeling way too easy and i believe its the decompression cable. i want to know how i would go about checking if this is the initial problem?? or if any of you guys had the same problem?? THANKS!! and no the trike will not start. Also i forgot to mention, it was running before the kick start started acting up.

If you want to see if the cable is acting up, just unhook it.

yea i just did that today. its acting exactly the same..
